Ongoing Senior Movers Varied Days & Times *Valid Texas Driver's License.

*Safe Driving Record
The Senior Movers Program was developed by the Senior Activities Center to help transport local seniors to medical appointments. The program is organized and run through the Senior Activity Center, but relies heavily on volunteers.  Volunteer drivers choose the days, hours and distance that they drive and are called upon to drive on an as-needed basis. Volunteers will assist boaters and members as they unload items they want to recycle or repurpose.  Also hand out information on water quality and conservation, boating safety, sell beach towels and windbreakers.

Bear Creek Disc Golf Course ‘Trash” Tourney 9 AM - 1 PM

Volunteers needed to run all aspects of the tournament. Players will engage in tournament play and gain points for the number of bags or butts they pick up off the course. Fun event!  Cool Prizes!

Other Projects That Can Be Done ANYTIME

Botanical Gardens- Several hundred caladium bulbs need to be planted throughout the garden.  All tools and training will be provided. Volunteers are needed for 2-4 hours.

Botanical Gardens- A single volunteer or small team of volunteers are needed to pain the wrought iron fence that encircles a portion of the gardens. All tools and training will be provided. Attention to detail is important.

Meadowmere Park – we are looking for a team of 2 – 4 to assist in painting 2 shade structures, guardrail and pipe rail. All supplies provided. Must be physically fit enough to work outside and endure the elements.  Project time estimated at 6 hours.

Acorn Woods – a team of 2 is needed to assist in stenciling numbers (large, 12 inch size) on to the side of 10 picnic tables at Acorn Woods Park. This park is located inside Oak Grove Sports complex.  Attention to detail and neatness is required. Bending, kneeling is necessary.  All supplies will be provided.  Project time estimated at 4 hours.

Meadowmere Park / Rockledge Park – a team of 2 or more is needed to assist in installing ‘reserved’ signs at several picnic sites within these two parks. Operation of a smaller gas-power auger is required along with common hand tools.  Training will be provided.  Project time estimated at 2 – 3 days.

Data Entry – a data entry project is available that entails entering data relevant to grant opportunities.  Excel spreadsheets are utilized.  All information is provided on hard copy and needs to be transferred to a database.  This work can be done from your home. Project time estimated at 3 – 5 days.

Vineyards Campground – we are looking for a team of 2 to assist in painting shade structures in the park.  Neatness counts.  All supplies provided. Must be physically fit enough to work outside and endure the elements.  These volunteer hours are Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday between 11 AM – 3 PM. Project time estimated at 5 days.
