“In 2007, the city suffered from the ravages of a devastating flood...In the aftermath, Keep Grapevine Beautiful stepped up...This was the most cohesive, incredible grassroots project ever accomplished and one that will make our citizens proud to live in Grapevine and be part of this unique community.”

- William D. Tate-

Mayor of Grapevine

Scout Projects

Scout ProjectsKGVB wholly supports Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. Hundreds of scouts have participated in KGVB programs over the years. The scouts are presented with badges at the completion of all clean-up projects of which they are quite proud.

Scouts not only attend community-wide events but also engage with KGVB for their Life Scout and Eagle Scout projects. Approximately, a dozen Life Scout projects and two dozen Eagle Scout projects are completed each year.  Projects have been implemented in literally all park land and many venues.

Projects have included -
• construction of plant and vegetatable gardens
• construction of fire rings, grills, tables and kiosks
• clearing trees, building trails and signage
• installation of trees and irrigation systems
• water quality programs for boaters and storm drains
• creating an inventory and GPS mapping of park features

In all, it is clear that KGVB’s management of scouts makes a huge difference to Grapevine's environmental strengths.
